The hike starts from the parking lot of Pravasivo, at kilometer 106 of the Stelvio highway. The walk, , well exposed to the sun, is passable for most of the year; it crosses the larch forests of the lower Reit slope, particularly striking in the autumn period for the yellowing of the foliage and in spring for the bright green of the new needle-like leaves. Along the way there are glimpses of the Bormio basin and toward Valfurva, where unmistakable towers the pyramid-shaped Pizzo Tresero, In the locality of Pian dei Larici there is a small picnic area, with tables and benches available for a rest. The hike can go as far as Teregua, or end earlier at any point with return to the Pravasivo parking lot
