Stelvio Family Trek: Path of Purity - Bormio 2,000

The Path of Purity is a themed trail designed to bring families and children closer to nature and the environmental heritage of the Bormio area.

The trail begins at Bormio 2000, which is easily accessible from the valley floor via the ski lifts. From there, you follow the so-called “Water Trail,” a pleasant path winding through the woods, characterized by gentle slopes and a cool, shaded environment.

Along the way, several thematic display boards explain the role of water in the Alpine ecosystem, the natural cycle of springs, biodiversity, and the delicate balance that connects the land, the forests, and the mountains.

Making the experience even more engaging are the wooden sculptures created by local artists—works that interpret the relationship between water, nature, and the landscape through forms inspired by the Alpine environment.

The trail is approximately 4 kilometers long in total—covering the round trip along the same route—and features an elevation gain of about 170 meters. It does not involve any significant technical difficulties but still requires appropriate footwear and a basic level of walking experience.

The trail is particularly well-suited for families who wish to spend a few hours outdoors, combining physical activity with exploration and observation. The informational panels and installations transform a simple walk through the woods into an educational and enjoyable experience.

Thanks to its elevation and the shade provided by the vegetation, the Path of Purity also offers a great alternative to walks in the valley floor during the hottest days of summer.
