The Sentiero dei Borghi is a loop route connecting the five main villages of the Val Masino Valley: San Martino, Bagni di Masino, Filorera, Cataeggio, and Cornolo. Born from the initiative of the Municipality of Val Masino and created with the collaboration of local associations, the route enhances ancient settlements and historic paths, offering an immersive experience between nature and culture.
The route, of hiking difficulty, extends for about 11 km and takes approximately 3h 40min (round trip) to complete. It winds through woods, meadows, and small villages, with points of interest such as the Thermal Spring of Bagni di Masino, the waterfall in Valle del Ferro, and the large monolith of Sasso Remenno, a popular climbing destination.
Various loops and deviations are available to adjust length and difficulty, including a shorter loop San Martino-Bregolana-San Martino and a tourist cycle-pedestrian path to Filorera.
An ideal itinerary for those seeking an accessible walk, rich in history, views, and small hidden treasures among the valleys and villages of Val Masino.
