Starting from the shelters at Alpe Musella, it is possible to reach Rif. Marinelli through the variant that runs along the inner axis of the Scerscen Valley. The first stretch involves a slight loss of altitude up to the entrance of the actual valley where, with an alternating ascent and descent within steep serpentinite walls, one reaches the former asbestos mines. After crossing the raging stream (bridge), continue on the opposite side up to the sediments of the ancient Alpe Scerscen and from there to the rounded ridges where the Alpini cemetery is located (here it reconnects with the base route of the Forcella d'Entova variant). The path does not include a view of it but continues along the valley to the first glacial streams where it meets the track coming from the karst area. The route now develops within wide detrital expanses with sparse vegetation, crossing three more bridges until reaching a long moraine ridge up to an upper terrace where two more streams are crossed to reach the refuge shortly after.
