From the Ghiacciaio dei Forni hotel, take the road northwards that climbs the mountain, quite steep with some turns, until you reach the S555 carriageable road along the left side of the Val Cedec. The route winds through the pastures and offers a wonderful view, first of the Ghiacciaio dei Forni and then of the Gran Zebru' m 3857. After the first part of the climb, pass Baita de Cedec ignoring the detours that lead to the opposite side of the valley. The path is flat until the foot of Rifugio Pizzini at an altitude of 2706 m. Then descend along path S528, along which, passing Pianon di Cedec and Rovine Caserma, you can encounter some trenches dating back to the First World War. The route, flat at first, winds along a path through the pastures until reaching the last descent leading to the Forni refuge.
