From the Centrale in Santa Caterina, in Magliaga, take path S558 uphill along the River Gavia to the Ponte delle Vacche, so named because the area is rich in pastures where herds graze during the summer. From here a path leads to the Gavia Pass. The walk, however, continues across the Ponte delle Vacche, with a picnic area for a pleasant stop. Follow path S556 down to La Sella in Ciogna.
