The route starts from the parking lot located at the Forni refuge. The stretch from Santa Caterina to the Forni Refuge is only passable with a pass or by transport with private jeeps. It is recommended to park the car in Santa Caterina just after the village and, beforehand, arrange with private transporters for the transfer of people and equipment (joelette) to the starting point (Forni Refuge). From the Forni Refuge, follow a short but quite steep ascent towards the northeast, then head west and traverse a long rolling stretch to the Ables area where the Ables Agritourism is located. From here, descend via an easy trail towards Santa Caterina or, alternatively, follow a jeepable road. Along the whole path, enjoy spectacular views of Valfurva and the surrounding peaks.
