Near the parking lot of the San Giuseppe chairlift, take the dirt road from the bridge. After a few hairpin bends through coniferous woods, you reach the locality of Barchi, where the path turns into a trail, running for a short distance alongside what is a ski slope in winter. Bending to the left, you leave the wide slope and, zigzagging through the woods until the gradient gradually diminishes, you reach the finish line. To amply repay the effort, here is suddenly revealed to view the lake (m 1921 a.s.l.), in which to indulge, in the warmer season, in a nice refreshing bath. Not to mention the unparalleled view from the Palu' hut, on the left of the lake, for those coming from the trail; half an hour's walk along the shores provides magnificent views. The return route provides two alternatives: the same road as the ascent or the path that, at the end of the descent at the refuge, on the right enters the woods passing through the localities of la Zocca, il Barchetto and Paluetto. Continuing from this beautiful hollow of meadows on the left, you will soon rejoin the outward route
Palu' Lake, a blue pearl in the center of Valmalenco.
