The hike begins at the Fontanaccia parking lot, above the village of Fumero, along Trail S487, which climbs up the Rezzalo Valley alongside the Rezzalasch Stream, reaching La Pontela and then continuing on to Teat. Once past Picac, you reach Macogia, where the wide plain of S. Bernardo opens up. After the small church, in the Gne’ra area, trail S537 climbs up to the left toward Pollore. Once past the mountain huts, the route continues along the trail marked by a sign pointing toward the lakes. After about an hour’s walk, once you’ve crossed a hill, you’ll see the small lakes of Pollore. From here, a stunning view of the Serottini-Saoretta Alpine range opens up.
You can return via the same route, or, for those in better shape, continue along trail S537 toward Boero di Sopra, descend to Fumero, and then return to Fontanaccia.
