The trail climbs from the 1,600-meter-high Monte parking area to Campaccio at 2,300 meters, passing by fresh water springs, scenic viewpoints, and points of artistic interest, such as the centuries-old Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Monte and the characteristic mountain huts. Starting from the ancient village of Monte, follow Trail N273 northwest toward the Campello huts, which can be reached in about 40 minutes. From here, the walk continues westward on trail N273, which intersects with trail N208 for a short stretch and then continues southeast to the Malga di Campaccio, where you can see the picturesque little mountain lake. This municipal mountain pasture bears witness to the connection with the local area and its preservation through agriculture and sheep farming, which are of great importance in the Upper Valtellina.
To return, just below Campaccio, follow the easy and scenic traverse that will take you to Malga Zandilla, a little gem on this lesser-known slope. From there, the return trip is along an easy, vehicle-accessible road.
