From the Foscagno Pass, head north on trail N130 which gradually rises on the western side of Monte Rocca. Passing the junction with the service road coming from the valley, continue in zigzag until the saddle at 2645 meters. Here continue southeast reaching shortly the lake below, Lago Nero, rather deep, one of the many unknown bodies of water in the area to most hikers. From here, it's possible to continue towards Malga Trela, the Cancano lakes or Sant'Antonio di Scianno. Along this rarely frequented route, you may encounter some shy chamois grazing.
