After a long series of long and high elevation gain stages, the penultimate one in Lombardy is of intermediate length and elevation gain. From Rifugio Branca you descend in the direction of Santa Caterina Valfurva on the orographic left passing by Malga Salettina continuing until you meet a path that climbs to the summit of Dosso Tresero, avoiding descending to the valley along the road. From here, turn sharply south along the valley leading to Passo Gavia, meeting the state road at some points and continuing along a path that cuts hairpin bends to the pass.
