It is stage no. 7 of the GVO-Gran Via delle Orobie. The seventh stage of the Gran Via delle Orobie takes us to the heart of the central Orobie and offers a splendid ride among passes and valleys, from the Caprari refuge in the Livrio Valley to the Mambretti refuge in the Scais Valley. From the Livrio Valley, through the Scoltador pass, the path crosses the high Val Venina and, having crossed the Branda' pass, overlooks the Ambria valley. The Forcellino pass leads to Val Vedello, which the path descends completely, up to Lake Scais, from which begins the climb in the homonymous valley (or Caronno Valley) leading to the Mambretti refuge. A crossing without particular difficulties or orientation problems. The only difficulty is the marked elevation gain uphill, about 1590 meters. A hiker with average training should allow 9-10 hours of walking. The recent adaptation to a bivouac-refuge of the structure in loc. Alpe Cigola dedicated to GianMario Lucini is noted.
