After leaving the car at the Altumeira parking lot, follow the forest-pastoral road to the Altumeira Huts, then take path no. 148 to the left towards Alpe Dosdè and the Federico Valgoi refuge.
When you reach the refuge, the path continues parallel to the stream until a fork where you need to keep left following the white and red trail markers. After passing the waterfall, you arrive at a plateau at 2350 m where you can observe traces left by the Dosdè Est glacier over millennia up to the Little Ice Age.
From this point onward, the white and red trail markers are replaced by plaques and cairns, and the path becomes less visible; after a steep section, you reach the plaque marking the glacier front position in 1932.
You cross the stream and reach a plateau at 2500 m, where the glacier was until the 1980s, and where on a gneiss boulder is the measuring sign placed by I. Bellotti in 1953 about 20 meters from the glacier front.
From here, ascend the slope on the right to the plaque marking the glacier front position in 1985
The path continues up to 2600 m where the last panel is located and where the Dosdè Est glacier can be observed
