From Sant'Antonio Valfurva, home of the Valfurva Valley Museum, you cross the bridge over the Frodolfo river and take the S550 road, which climbs up to the Calvarana di Sotto mountain huts. Continuing straight, you cross the stream and enter a mule track through the dense forest. You cross the Calvarana Valley and at the fork, follow the S522 trail uphill, characterized by a steep initial ascent and a long traverse that leads to Sobretta Bassa. Having crossed the Sobretta Valley, the route continues flat along a comfortable path that passes through the beautiful and silent Cornogna forest, until it intersects with the Rio di Sclaneira small valley. You cross it and continue along the path that goes into the Plaghera forest and emerges in the Vedig locality, from where you reach Santa Caterina.
