The classic among Malenco routes that leads to the oldest refuge in Lombardy overlooking the still imposing glaciers (Lower and Upper Scerscen and Caspoggio glacier). A route suitable for all people with a minimum level of fitness: start from Campo Moro, a short descent to the base of the dam then a steep stretch along the slopes of Sasso Moro. Long flat path until the start of Sospiri, the ascent leading to Carate refuge and from there to the Bocchetta delle Forbici from which you can enjoy perhaps the most fascinating view in the entire Valmalenco. Long traverse to the remains of the Bombardieri helicopter, crossing the stream originating from the Caspoggio glacier, then ascent on the spur leading to the refuge from which you enjoy a fantastic view. Return by the same route or by the variant passing towards Alpe Musella.
