The route starts from the Livigno Dairy P4 and, for a flat section, follows along the road path N138, the right shore of Lake Livigno up to Pont da li Ca'bra and then to the refreshment point da l'Alpasge'la. From here, in the Stelvio National Park territory, the path becomes narrower and more demanding but no less beautiful. The natural scenery along the route is suggestive and intact; after passing Do's da Bap and Pontin da l'Alpasge'la, it steepens to reach, more gently in the final part, the Val Alpisella Pass, characterized by the presence of a mountain hut and some alpine ponds. A little further on, on a gentle descent, the path splits and on the left bank leads to the springs of the Adda River. Continuing down both paths, you cross a wooded area until reaching Lake San Giacomo Fraele. Following the artificial basin on both sides, you arrive at Lake Cancano.
