From the picnic area and parking located after the refreshment point at Alpe Solena, follow trail N184 downhill but always easy with some hairpin bends. Here, a plaque commemorates the Alpini who made this route passable for vehicles between the two wars. After crossing the Solena bridge, you move to the other side of the mountain, passing a long stretch under the cyclopean walls of the Corne del Palone, and after some hairpins in the woods you reach the Boscopiano Malga. The Braulio stream is crossed near the Bocche d'Adda, where in the past a very narrow gorge let the Adda river roar out; today some of the waters are taken by A2A for electricity production. Continue along the path until you reach the Stelvio State Road and the Old Baths, where it is possible to take a complete relaxing break immersed in the thermal waters of Bormio. After passing the Baths Park, the excursion ends near the Grand Hotel and thermal establishment of the New Baths.
