From Malga dell'Alpe, follow the new path S519 that overlooks state road 300 of Passo Gavia, until the junction with the dirt road leading to its crossing. Here you descend from the new path which first crosses the Gavia State Road (WARNING!!) and then continues with switchbacks through the forest until it meets the dirt road leading to the Ponte delle Vacche picnic area. From here you descend to cross the Gavia valley and then climb along path S561 towards Alpe Tresero, still unused today, and continue to the Tresero ridge where it is possible to stop for a packed lunch and admire the vast panorama over Valfurva, after a selfie with the stage totem! Continue along path S525 which first leads to the pastures of Alpe Cerena and then to Rifugio Stella Alpina where you can recharge your strength and batteries. From here the stage continues along the paved road that leads to Rifugio Forni, the start of stage 9.
