The first leg of Bormio 360 traverses a landscape dominated by the roar of water in all its forms. From the parking lot in Pravasivo, walk along the trail above the Stelvio National Park guesthouse until you reach the Stelvio State Highway 38, and from there continue walking along the highway to the mouth ofBoscopiano (there are already plans to build an alternative trail, of considerable excitement, in the Adda River source gorge that will avoid the state road, but it will still take a couple of years to complete). An uphill section along a N184 carriage road leads to Rifugio Solena via Malga di Boscopiano and Alpe Solena. Here a small church dedicated to Sant'Erasmo built by A2A in 1934 commemorates those who died on the job during the construction of the Val Fraele dams and A2A's large hydroelectric plants in Valtellina. The itinerary continues through the dam and Scale Lake until it reaches the Fraele Towers. Along this stage there are several rest stops where you can enjoy typical Valtellina dishes: the Ristoro Solena, the Ristoro Monte Scale, and the Chalet Villa Valania.
