The itinerary takes place along CAI path no. 525, which in a few minutes leads to the old Gavia refuge and then continues along marker no. 551 to Bivacco Battaglione Skiatori Monte Ortler m. 3141. From here, encountering numerous Italian military works, lodgings, artillery positions, trenches and barbed wire lines, continue along the ridge to Pizzo di Vallombrina m 3220.
