The hike starts from the car park near the Church of San Giacomo di Fraele at Cancano in Valdidentro and follows the sent. N199. In a few steps you are at the Fraele Pass, a watershed between the Adda and SpolInnDanube basins. The trail descends for 1 km, reaching a fork in the road. It continues to the left, crosses Val Bruna on a bridge and then divides at Grasso di Pra' Grata. This is one of the most spectacular places in the area, both for the loneliness of the place and for the vast valley floor morphology of limestone pebbles reminiscent of Apennine scenery, around the wild and almost forgotten cliffs of the Piz Murtarol coastline and the Cassa del Ferro junction. Along the sent. N182 you are shortly at the Ponte del Gallo. In this area, part of the Stelvio National Park, it is not uncommon to observe grazing ungulates.
