The starting point is at the locality Our di Cima (1,415 m), already offering a panoramic view over the whole Valtellina. The dirt road - beyond the summer mountain pasture with the huts - connects with the intermediate stage of this hike, Alpe Granda. The track should be followed until you intersect the marked path (right side of the road) that climbs more directly and emerges from the forest where the Rifugio Alpe Granda is located at 1,680 m above sea level. The route continues - behind the Refuge - with a long traverse among the trees, first on a wide path, then on a dirt road. The final section is - again - on a path (left side of the track) and with a quick zig-zag you reach the long ridge of Scermendone. In sequence - continuing eastwards in the meadows - the Casere di Scermendone (2,103 m), the San Quirico chapel (2,131 m) and the Bivacco Scermendone (2,140 m).
The panorama is truly of great interest. The nearby Monte Disgrazia, with the summit at 3,678 m above sea level, which belongs to the territory of Buglio in Monte, lies to the northeast with the Corni Bruciati group; to the north you see all the peaks of Val Masino and to the south the Orobie Alps, Valtellina side, are clearly visible, from Monte Legnone (southwest) to the Adamello Group (southeast).
