The Croce Valandrea ski mountaineering route is a medium-difficulty route with an altitude difference of 450 metres. You can reach the start of the route with the free bus at the stop: PontigliaTaglieda. Once you reach the Central Ski School, exactly at the end of the Lupigno playground, a trail starts that leads to the Valandrea Cross. This track, marked with orange and blue poles, offers the possibility of ascending in complete tranquillity from a path through the forest and away from the ski slopes, ascending by gentle hairpin bends that allow you to practise inversions. Once at the summit, you will be able to reach the Costaccia refuge. For the descent, it is advisable to use the ski slopes adjacent to the route; the slopes close at 5 p.m. after which time it will no longer be possible to ski down them. For those who wish to descend off-piste, we remind you of the obligation to use the self-rescue kit consisting of an avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe, and to inform yourself in advance about the quality of the snow and the risks associated with it via the avalanche bulletin.
