Leaving the car in the parking lots of Prato Valentino, the ski mountaineering route follows the marked trail to the left of the Baita del Sole Chalet flanking the first section of the San Valentino slope. It continues passing through the woods, at the back of Residence Stefania, along a flat track. At the first fork, go up to the right to the "Tavolone" that opens up the view of the valley bottom to the Colmen di Dazio, also, on clear days you can see the chain of the Monte Rosa group. From here we descend for a few meters crossing another part of coniferous forest. We then proceed northward where the path begins to climb until we reach the locality Saline, a point that allows views toward the east and of the Adamello group. We then follow the small road in the direction of "Fontanacce" and continue the ascent skirting the track of the same name and zizzing up to the Alp, the end point of our route.

The trail is carefully marked with special signs, and is beaten again every time there is a snowfall.

A check point is placed at the start of the trail to verify the proper operation of the A.R.T.V.A. Once checked in, we can venture out to explore nature.

Normal ski mountaineering equipment (ARTVA shovel and probe) is recommended to tackle this hike, and also to consult the nivo-meteorological bulletin.
