Leaving the car in the Prato Valentino parking lots, the ski mountaineering route follows the marked trail on the left of Chalet Baita del Sole, flanking the first stretch of the San Valentino slope. It continues through the woods behind Residence Stefania, along a flat track. At the first fork, climb to the right up to the "Tavolone," which opens the view to the valley bottom towards Colmen di Dazio; on clear days, the Monte Rosa group chain is visible. From here you descend a few meters crossing another conifer forest section. Then proceed north where the path begins to rise until reaching the Saline locality, a point with views to the east and the Adamello group. Then follow the small road towards "Fontanacce" and continue the ascent alongside the homonymous slope, zigzagging up to the Alp, the final point of our route.
The route is carefully marked with special signs and is groomed again after every snowfall.
At the start of the trail, there is a checkpoint to verify the correct functioning of the A.R.T.V.A. Once checked in, you can venture out to discover nature.
For this excursion, standard ski mountaineering equipment is recommended (ARTVA shovel and probe), as well as consulting the snow and weather bulletin.
