You drive up from Albosaggia towards the Campelli at about 1,200 meters. Depending on the road surface conditions, since the road is usually not cleared of snow, you can also start from a lower altitude. The route is quite simple also because it is definitely one of the most appealing in the area. In fact, with good snow conditions, it is almost impossible not to encounter ski mountaineers. You climb along the slopes of the Campelli meadows to then enter the woods following the gap of the alpine ski slopes opened in the seventies. Sections alternate along the agrosilvopastoral road leading to Alpe Meriggio and steeper sections along the path. Upon reaching loc. Pianili, a plateau at about 2000 meters altitude, you continue on the left first on a slight slope and then along a flat traverse that skirts the Piz di Freri and brings us to the foot of the Piada. From the Piada, at about 2150 meters, you can see along the ridge our destination. Always staying on the crest following the trace that is never missing, you reach the Cima Meriggio at about 2,350 meters. The classic descent route is along the ascent route at least up to Pianili and then you choose to descend through the woods or the road depending on the snow cover. The Meriggio area also offers some alternatives that are not mentioned in this itinerary, they are usually taken during the annual ski mountaineering race.
