The Valtellina Superiore Sassella DOCG production area lies immediately west of Sondrio, between the municipality of Castione Andevenno and the great ridge that rises west of the capital. An impervious and sunny area that includes the cliff of the Marian Sanctuary of Sassella, dating back to the 1400s.
