The route is not particularly demanding: the length, elevation gain, and slopes are manageable. It starts from the parking lot near the new Sports Center of Castello dell'Acqua and follows the Sentiero Valtellina westward to the Baghetto Bridge (Chiuro); from here the ascent on asphalt begins up to the town square. The path continues always on asphalt passing through some hamlets immersed in chestnut forests. The final stretch with compact dirt surface reaches the huts of Alpe Piazzola (farmhouse), a wide ridge from which you can admire a splendid panorama of the middle Valtellina. The descent takes a different route from the ascent; two short detours allow a visit to a water mill with horizontal blades, a bucket for peeling chestnuts and cereals, and an ancient forge.
