The Count's Forest takes its name from the noble Alberti family, when a branch of this family originally obtained title to the property. In fact, since that time, despite subsequent changes of ownership, this toponym has remained unchanged to the present day. In the past, the forest was a fundamental resource, as it supplied wood for fuel and construction, as well as peat and coal, plus it was a source of income from the sale of timber destined outside the province. During the nineteenth century, the stream courses began to be used to transport large quantities of logs destined for the plain. This stretch of trail contains all the segments of this log supply chain, some traces of which still remain visible today.
