ride along the valley floor.Once you reach Fochin, take a long, gentle dirt road that climbs through the woods toward the Motin Mountain Hut. The climb, which is never technical but consistently steep, allows you to gain elevation gradually while offering splendid views of Valdidentro and the surrounding mountains. Continuing along the forest roads, you’ll reach Oga and then the Oga Fort, an important historical site from World War I and an extraordinary vantage point overlooking the entire Bormio valley.
From here, the tour continues toward Malga San Colombano, crossing vast alpine pastures and offering open views of the peaks of the Cima Piazzi range. The high-altitude section is one of the most spectacular parts of the route, featuring smooth dirt roads and authentic alpine scenery. After reaching the San Colombano area, the trail descends toward the Conca Bianca Mountain Hut, a renowned rest stop nestled in nature.
The return trip heads back toward Oga and then on toward Bormio via the picturesque Santa Lucia trail—an easy, scenic route that allows you to complete the loop with a pleasant descent. The entire route runs mainly along gravel roads suitable for vehicles and forest trails, making it ideal for e-bikes and mountain bikes—even for those without advanced technical skills but who are in good enough shape to handle the total elevation gain.
