The Grosina Valley is presented to the visitor with still intact and well-preserved alpine features and landscapes, with its alpine pastures, streams, lakes, and its typical rural cores. It is divided into two main valleys: the Eita Valley to the east and the Sacco Valley to the west. The ascent route to Eita is all on asphalt, passes by the locality Fusino (above the first dam), then runs along the right side of the valley with accessible medium gradient. It skirts the second large reservoir, passes on the left side and pedals with effort on gradients up to 15 percent, arriving at Eita in a wide glacial basin. The descent takes place on the other side of the valley along a dirt and cemented road that passes several cores of manicured huts and pastures and returns to Fusino. On the last stretch, after San Giacomo, it descends on a dirt road to Castello Venosta and then to Grosio. Text and photos by Federico Pollini.
