The "Peace Route" is a circular itinerary that starts and returns to the iconic Rifugio Forni (2170 m a.s.l.), a reference point for hiking and mountaineering in Valfurva. The hike spans about 9 kilometers and offers a full immersion both in the grandeur of the alpine landscape and in the historical memory of the Great War front.
After departing from Rifugio Forni, the trail gently ascends, crossing the wide pastures of Malga dei Forni, where in summer it is easy to encounter grazing animals. Continuing, the itinerary heads towards Cima Branca, reaching the mountain shoulder. Here, the landscape transforms and becomes the custodian of important Great War relics, silent testimonies of the harsh battles that took place on these peaks. It will be a unique opportunity to reflect on history and the meaning of peace, in a natural context of rare beauty.
From the mountain shoulder, the view opens up to an indescribable panorama: the majestic peaks of the Ortles-Cevedale Group rise on the horizon, offering views of the "13 peaks" that will leave you breathless.
Continuing the loop, the route gently descends towards the picturesque Valle delle Rosole, a more intimate and suggestive environment, before slightly ascending again to return to Forni, passing through the comfortable Rifugio Branca (2493 m a.s.l.).
From here, the last downhill section will bring you back to the starting point.
