With this fairly long stage characterized by medium elevation difference, you leave the peaceful Val Viola to reach the tourist valley of Livigno. From the Rifugio Federico in Dosde' you take a short climb to the Rifugio Val Viola, nestled on the shore of some calm small lakes. Leaving Rifugio Viola, you follow the descending path on the left hydrographic side of the valley, skirting the Lago della Val Viola and passing some pastures until reaching the Torrente Minestra where you turn north to climb to the Passo delle Mine at 2804 meters of altitude. From here begins a long descent to the hamlet of Tresenda di Livigno where you follow the contour trail that runs along the valley on the right hydrographic side until the town of Livigno.
