You reach the foothills of the Valtellina with this rather long stage but characterized by little elevation change. From the Rifugio Cederna Maffina you follow the course of the Torrente Fontana downhill, passing the beautiful “Cascada de Furam”, the Alpe Campascio, the Piana dei Cavalli until you arrive at the hamlet of Sant’Antonio. Then follows a gentle ascent along a path to the locality of Dalico where you gain the south-facing slope overlooking the bottom of the Valtellina and the Orobie Valtellinesi from above. Continuing along the hiking route, called Sentiero del Sole, you reach the settlement of Prato Valentino where the ski lifts of the Alpe Teglio start.
