A long intermediate elevation stage descends from the imposing world of high altitudes to return to the height of the pastures still on the slopes above the upper Valmalenco. From the Marinelli Bombardieri Refuge, the remains of the Caspoggio Glacier are targeted, the small glacier of which some residual offshoots are walked on to reach the Caspoggio Glacier, a 3000-meter-high pass from which you descend towards the artificial basin of the Alpe Gera Lake passing by the Roberto Bignami Refuge. From the lake begins a gentle climb along the bottom of the Poschiavina Valley that heads directly to the border with Switzerland, passing through the Ur Pass and the Cancian Pass. Here you return entirely to Italian territory, reaching the Campagneda Pass from which you descend towards the Ca’ Runcasch Refuge which is passed to reach the Cristina Refuge.
