This stage of the trail is definitely the most panoramic, as it runs entirely along the long ridge Granda-Scermendone, offering a superb view of the Orobie mountain range and the Val Masino peaks. From the center of Filorera (787m) you go up along the road leading to the Predarossa plain, after about half an hour of walking leave the road turning right following the signs to the Alpe Granda refuge. Once past the refuge, take the trail to Scermendone: from here you walk through the entire valley on a very panoramic route until you reach Alpe Scermendone where the homonymous bivouac (2150m) is located.
