The Monte Giovello trail

Going up the road towards Trivigno, you leave the car at the junction that takes you to the locality "Panizza - Alpe Strencia." After some gentle hairpin bends uphill, the road heads east reaching the locality "Alpe Strencia." In this stretch of the route, the forest is very open and the views of the peaks surrounding us are breathtaking. From here, continue following the itinerary to the right, on the southern side of Monte Giovello, giving the possibility to enjoy a unique panorama of the Valtellina Orobie Alps chain. Reaching the Santo valley, keep left and reach, skirting the Trivigno cross-country ski loop, the small hut used as a changing room for cross-country skiers.

A normal snow hiking equipment is recommended (snowshoes, poles or possibly crampons).
