The itinerary takes place in front of large mountains, including Ligoncio, Badile, Cengalo, Cima di Zocca, Cima di Castello and the imposing Monte Disgrazia. It requires several days of walking, from 3 to 5 days depending on the chosen itinerary.
The Sentiero Roma is an “EEA” Trail, for experienced hikers with equipment. The kilometers are covered through pastures, scree, and some sections equipped with fixed ropes and chains. In addition to technical clothing and footwear suitable for high altitude, it is advisable to have:
- Helmet
- Harness
- Cord + carabiner or a possible via ferrata kit (attention: the equipped sections are not comparable to via ferratas)
- Trekking poles
Curiosity:
Since 1995, this spectacular high route has hosted the Trofeo Kima, a 52 km skyrace with a total elevation gain of 8400 m. This sky marathon is considered one of the most beautiful and challenging skyraces worldwide. Winners complete the route counterclockwise, starting and finishing in Filorera, in just over 6 hours.
