The road bike as a means of getting to know the Cech Coast? Yes. The tour - with some double-digit inclines - is full of interesting spots that tell the story of the area well.
The loop route begins and ends in Morbegno, where the Ganda Bridge "graces" the Adda River. The first section - flat - is on the Sentiero Valtellina until Paniga di Morbegno, then there is the obligatory detour on Viale Stelvio / Strada Statale 38 until Ardenno, where signs indicate"Val Masino." The climb-about 8 km and 600 m of positive elevation gain-follows SP 9, crosses the Masino stream at Ponte del Baffo and continues-it's SP 10-to the towns of Cevo and Caspano, the GPM of this tour. Fatigue is over and in sequence the route passes through Chempo, Naguarido and Serone, beautiful nuclei of the Cechs, each with its own bell tower, and stops in the villages of Civo and Mello, really scenic. The descent on the valley floor, with a series of hairpin bends through vineyards and some olive groves, goes in the direction of Traona. The return to Morbegno is again on the Sentiero Valtellina, with passage over a small river island of naturalistic value, Isola della Pescaia or Isola d'Adda.
