Future Roots
BPER and the Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Foundation, through their support of Future Roots, reaffirm their commitment to local territories and communities, recognizing in internal and mountain areas a heritage of relationships, skills, and identities to be enhanced.
The project arises from the desire to promote paths of sustainable development capable of dialoguing culture, economy, and social cohesion with the aim of (re)generating opportunities and new perspectives.
Three distinct phases are planned:
- a research and investigation effort led by an authoritative and interdisciplinary scientific committee that includes: Gabriele Pasqui, Andrea Membretti, Gabriela Jacomella, and Silvia Di Passio
- working tables during which - thanks to the involvement and comparison among institutions, academics, representatives of the third sector, and the Managers of BPER branches in the involved cities - it aims to contribute to the development of territorial growth paths in three different areas: Culture in Chiavenna, Economy in Morbegno, Tourism in Bormio
- production of a final project volume that collects the main findings of the research with the aim of making the knowledge produced transferable.
At the end of each day of work and discussion, a public program of three evening events aimed at the entire citizenship will be proposed:
- Chiavenna: May 20 at 6:30 p.m. - Teatro della Società Democratica Operaia Culture that creates. How to relaunch the identity of places?
- Morbegno: June 4 at 6:30 p.m. - Auditorium Ex Convento di S. Antonio Territories that (do not) count. How to reactivate local economies?
- Bormio: June 17 at 6:30 p.m. - Bormio Terme/ Congress Center The tourism of tomorrow. What possible alternatives?
