An immersive adventure to discover the fascinating and unique world of the peat bog.
Guided by an expert naturalist, children will walk along wooden boardwalks suspended among mosses, pools of water, and rare plants—embarking on a short journey inside a precious treasure chest of biodiversity.
This exploration is filled with wonder and discovery, as young participants actively search for the elements needed to complete the special mission entrusted to them.
Inspired by legends and fantastical tales, the activity invites children to observe and explore the surrounding environment and to uncover the surprising adaptations of the animals and plants that live there.
FUN FACTS
The participants will encounter the tiny, extraordinary creatures that inhabit this fragile ecosystem—from carnivorous plants to tadpoles, from shimmering dragonflies to rare butterflies that live only here. Did you know that:
• Some peat bog plants feed on insects!
• Certain butterfly species that live here cannot be found anywhere else.
• Peat forms very slowly—just a few millimeters every hundred years!
