Michele Toniatti's solo exhibition offers a total sensory experience, where painting evolves into a "Universal Plastic Expression". Through the skillful use of volumes, textures, and finally, electric light, the artist decodes reality on every scale: from historical memory to the heartbeat of nature, to the pure vibration of luminous energy.
A journey through the matter, nature, and the light of the plastic universe of an artist who has managed to transform a button into a unit of measure of the soul and light into a sculptural element. From large Cortecce to vibrant light installations, an exhibition that redefines the concept of contemporary painting. This journey now encompasses the entire stylistic evolution of Michele, making the exhibition a truly complete and immersive event.

Exhibition Path

Four Dimensions of the Visible

  • BUTTON: The Weave of Time The "Button" is Toniatti's atom. In this series, the grid of material buttons acts as a suture between the present and a classical past surfacing in the background. It is an operation of anchoring memory: the plastic relief gives body to what time has rendered ethereal.
  • LANDSCAPE: The Topography of Color In the Landscape canvases, the vision expands toward the horizon. The landscape is recomposed through geometric patches and dense stratifications. The surface becomes a tactile mapping, where depth is not given by perspective, but by the thickness of the matter and the grooves that capture natural light.
  • CORTECCE: Botanical Skin With Cortecce, Toniatti enters into the fiber of the world. Large-scale works celebrate the epidermis of nature. The veins, knots, and roughness are interpreted with a plastic force that transforms the biological detail into solemn architecture, reminding us that the same geometric harmony governs every living being.
  • LIGHT: The Energy of Form The final evolution of the exhibition is represented by the works with integrated lighting. Here, Toniatti's plastic matter meets artificial light. The lighted display cases isolate the buttons and floral shapes, transforming them into contemporary icons. The light no longer falls on the work but emanates from within, emphasizing the transparency of the materials and creating an atmosphere suspended between design, technology, and chromatic spirituality.
