Bormio will be the protagonist of the transit of the Olympic Flame Journey of Milan Cortina 2026

An unforgettable adventure through Italy and its people. The story of each torchbearer will ignite our emotions, making us proud to be part of a global event and inspiring new generations with the values of Peace, Friendship, Hope, and Team Spirit.

The Torches

The torches of Milan Cortina 2026 are called “Essential” created in two versions: one for the Winter Olympic Games and the other for the Winter Paralympic Games. The Olympic torch features shades of green and blue, while the Paralympic one has bronze tones. “Essential” represents a tribute to the excellence of Italian design. Every detail is meant to represent the strength and determination of athletes, as well as their ability to bring people together through sport. They are not just simple objects, but icons, a fundamental part of the story that Milan Cortina 2026 wishes to write and of the legacy it intends to leave to the Olympic and Paralympic Movement. The Olympic and Paralympic torches are a universal symbol of unity, hope, and perseverance, embodying the core values of friendship, respect, and excellence that underlie the Games. They have a special role as they carry the Flame that symbolizes the light shining within athletes, inspiring them to overcome their limits and compete with integrity, loyalty, and fair play, celebrating diversity and promoting equality among all participants.

Route

The torchbearers will start from the schools of Cepina (via Roma) and then pass through the historic center of Bormio, concluding the route in the cable car area
