The Torches
The torches of Milan Cortina 2026 are called “Essential” created in two versions: one for the Winter Olympic Games and the other for the Winter Paralympic Games.
The Olympic torch features green and blue hues, while the Paralympic one displays bronze tones. “Essential” represents a tribute to the excellence of Italian design. Every detail is designed to represent the strength and determination of athletes, as well as their ability to unite people through sport. They are not just simple objects, but an icon, a fundamental part of the story that Milan Cortina 2026 wishes to write and the legacy it aims to leave to the Olympic and Paralympic Movement. The Olympic and Paralympic torches are a universal symbol of unity, hope, and perseverance, and embody the fundamental values of friendship, respect, and excellence that underpin the Games. They play a special role as they carry the Flame that symbolizes the light that shines within athletes, inspiring them to overcome their limits and compete with integrity, loyalty, and fair play, celebrating diversity and promoting equality among all participants.
