Trento Film Festival: Mountains and Cultures
Founded in 1952, the Trento Film Festival is the first thematic film festival in the world and the second Italian festival after the Venice Film Festival. For over seventy years, it has been the reference event dedicated to themes of mountain, adventure, and exploration, and environmental, cultural, and current issues have made the scope of the event and its programming increasingly stimulating and varied.
The mountain is the protagonist, and many themes related to it, starting from mountaineering and its great international names, have opened up and evolved over the years, exploring new forms of language, dialogue, and sharing with the public.
Each year, the international competition presents the best documentaries, fiction films, and short films set in mountains and extreme regions of the world.
