The Bormio Library, in collaboration with the Youth Aggregation Centres of Alta Valtellina, is offering a series of evening events to "disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with the world".
In an era increasingly dominated by technology, in which smartphone and screen
use is now fully considered an addiction, the desire to experience authentic
moments free from digital distractions is growing in parallel.
The "Offline Library Club" event is launched
with precisely this aim: to create a space where people can disconnect, slow
down, relax, and "connect" only with one another; at our offline evening you
can read, talk, dance, play, and meet new people, all without your phone.
The inspiration for the event comes from the Offline Clubs,
which originated in Amsterdam and then expanded to cities such as Milan, London, Paris,
Dubai and Barcelona. These clubs, designed for the well-being of the community,
organise events focused on being together, without phones, to
respond to an increasingly felt need: disconnect from the smartphone and
reconnect with people. Their motto is simple: "Swap screen time for real time". The goal: spend less
time on your phone and more time creating real, genuine connections, both with yourself and with
others.
