As part of the Estate dei Piccoli programme in Valdidentro, a special event featuring major shows dedicated to the whole family, designed to entertain and involve both young and old.
🐦 A story that teaches you to fly
On Tuesday 21 July, at the Polifunzionale Rasin, “La Gabbianella” takes to the stage, a show freely inspired by Luis Sepúlveda’s "Story of a Seagull and the Cat Who Taught Her to Fly".
A delicate and profound story, able to speak to children with the lightness of a fairy tale and to adults with the power of a universal message: “Only those who dare to do so can fly.”
🎭 A comic, poetic and emotionally rich performance
“La Gabbianella” is a show that combines theatre, circus arts, masks and video projections with animated drawings, bringing to life an engaging, dynamic and visually striking story.
At the heart of the story are precious themes: love for others, even when they are different from us, respect for nature, care for what surrounds us, and the power of solidarity.
🐱 The story of Zorba and the little seagull
After ending up in an oil slick in the North Sea, the seagull Kengah manages to land, now at death’s door, on the balcony of the cat Zorba.
Before dying, she entrusts him with her egg and makes him swear three solemn promises: not to eat it, to take care of it, and to teach the little one that will hatch how to fly.
Zorba accepts the challenge and, with the help of the funny and close-knit feline community of the port of Hamburg, will take care of the little seagull. But how can a cat teach someone to fly?
To keep the hardest promise, Zorba will have to ask for help, trust others, and show that, sometimes, even those who are very different from us can become family.
👨👩👧👦 A show for children and families
Through comic moments, poetry, mime-clown, actor and figure theatre, the show takes the audience on a tender and entertaining journey, perfect for children but capable of moving adults too.The show “La Gabbianella” is particularly recommended for children aged 4 to 10, but is designed to be enjoyed by the whole family.
