A unique opportunity to discover up close the Renaissance frescoes found in the former submerged church of San Giacomo di Fraele, currently located at the Premadio power plant, and to visit the power plant itself.
Renaissance frescoes: but how were they found?
During a period when the water level of the Cancano artificial lake dropped, thanks to the contribution of the Carabinieri Forestali of the Valdidentro command, the wall perimeter of the ancient church was identified beneath the rubble. Subsequently, a delicate debris-removal operation was carried out, which led to the discovery of the frescoes, preserved in surprisingly good condition.
The visit experience
During the visit, you will be able to discover up close the valuable restoration work carried out on the site, but you will also have the opportunity, thanks to the collaboration of A2A S.p.A., to visit the power plant itself.
The dual experience will take place by splitting participants into two groups for each session, for a total visit time of about 2 hours.
