Between the end of September and the beginning of October, Zebrù valley becomes the perfect setting to witness the bellowing of the red deer, a fascinating and emotionally charged natural event. During the mating season, male red deer make powerful calls to attract females and mark their territory, creating a unique atmosphere in the quiet of the valley.
The excursion, led by a mountain guide, starts in the early afternoon from the Fantelle parking (Valfurva).
From here, a guided hike starts along the easy dirt road that winds through the valley, among larch forests and panoramic views. The route is easy and suitable for even inexperienced hikers.
During the hike, which lasts about two hours, the guide will share interesting facts and information about the behavior of red deer and their role in the alpine environment. Once you reach the chosen spot, you will wait for dusk, when the red deer are most active and their calls echo most clearly in the valley. A fascinating, immersive experience that respects the animals, to be enjoyed on tiptoe, with eyes and ears wide open.
